Art as Experience is an hour-long conversation between Tom Xenakis and Sheila Blake after their visit to an exhibition, serving as a guide for taking a longer look at art.

The Art of Thanksgiving

Sheila and Tom discuss some of the iconic works in illustration and fine art that depicted Thanksgiving, and others associated with abundance, a bountiful harvest, and a celebration of the fruits of one’s labors. The works of early American painters, such as Edward Hicks and John Singleton Copley, are discussed; and there’s an interesting discussion of the place in American art of Normal Rockwell and others often excluded from consideration by critics.
